Nokia 301 phone available online for Rs.5,149 - Review

The Nokia 301 is bringing a simple, affordable mobile phone experience to Europe as the Finnish firm looks to hone in on the companion device market. While the 301 will be sold in emerging markets as the primary handset for users, in developed regions this feature phone won't be on children's Christmas wish lists.
The Nokia 301 feature phone which was announced by the Finnish handset maker during the Mobile World Congress is now available online at a price of Rs. 5,149.

The phone has been listed at online retailer Flipkart's website and comes with a 1 year Nokia India warranty. It's available in Magenta, Black and Cyan colour variants. The Nokia 301 is built on the same design approach as the company's higher end Lumia phones, featuring multiple colours. It is a dual-SIM, dual standby phone and also offers 3G connectivity. The Nokia 301 has a 2.4-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 240x320 pixels and has an alphanumeric keypad, bearing the conventional candy bar form factor. It runs Nokia's proprietary Series 40 operating system.
There's no touchscreen on the 301, instead you get a low resolution 2.4-inch display which sits above the classic 12-button keypad and menu keys, giving the handset a proper retro look and feel.
On top is a 3.5mm headphone jack and microUSB port, while down the left hand side there's a covered microSD card slot. The plastic cover is easy to whip off and clip back in, and if you plump for the dual-SIM Nokia 301 on the opposite side you'll find a similar setup for the second SIM card.
Like its cheaper brother, the Nokia 105, the 301 is noticeably plastic in the hand, but it does feel pretty solid and capable of taking a few knocks.
The second SIM slot is only good for 2G connectivity which means internet access is out of the question, but the main SIM slot, located under the easy to remove plastic rear and battery has support for the 3.5G network. The Nokia 301 has a 3.2-megapixel camera that will offer "Sequential shot," which allows users to takes 3-5 pictures in a row. It also offers a Panorama mode and self-timer, among other camera features. Nokia has also included a simple self portrait assistant with voice integration. It will tell you to move your camera up, down, right, left to centre your face for the shot.

It also comes with Nokia Slam, through which users can share photos via Bluetooth. It's an easy way to share photos and other files to other basic phones and you don't need to pair on Bluetooth. It works with other non-Nokia phones as well. The phone also offers FM radio. The phone weighs 102 grams and comes with a 1200mAh battery.
